Research proposal, Dissertation
Students will engage in sustained advanced research to produce a research proposal, as well as an extended research essay (dissertation) on an approved subject.
This topic aims to:
Provide students with an opportunity to engage in sustained and advanced research and writing
Enable students to provide evidence of the ability to collect and evaluate information; construct, test and defend an argument; and critically examine theories, legal principles, policy and literature in the area of academic enquiry
Prepare students for research higher degrees
Expected learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:
Demonstrate advanced research skills
Demonstrate advanced capacity to analyse legal issues
Demonstrate advanced understanding of the state of the academic literature and legal and/or policy considerations relating to your research topic
Work independently on a large research project
Demonstrate capacity to write effectively
