This major is offered in conjunction with the Graduate Diploma in Engineering Science.
This major provides study in both the theoretical and the practical aspects of materials engineering that builds on a student's previous knowledge and experience. It also provides the student with an ability to critically analyse and evaluate information and solve problems and creates a basis for further study in materials engineering.

To qualify for the Major in Materials Engineering a student must complete 36 units with a grade of P or NGP or better in each topic, according to the program of study below.
