This major is offered in conjunction with the Graduate Diploma in Engineering Science.
This major provides study in both the theoretical and the practical aspects of civil engineering that builds on a student's previous knowledge and experience. It also provides the student with an ability to critically analyse and evaluate information and solve problems and creates a basis for further study in civil engineering.
On completion students will be able to:
To qualify for the Major in Civil Engineering a student must complete 36 units with a grade of P or NGP or better in each topic, according to the program of study below.

ENGR8761 Engineering Mathematics GE (4.5 units)
ENGR8791 Mechanics and Structures GE (4.5 units)
ENGR8801 Fluid Mechanics GE (4.5 units)
ENGR8851 Infrastructure Systems Engineering GE (4.5 units)
ENGR8862 Structural Engineering 1 GE (4.5 units)
ENGR8932 Engineering Geology and Geomechanics GE (4.5 units)
STEM8002 Introduction to Geographical Information Systems GE (4.5 units)
