     Study Planner

The combined degrees program of Bachelor of Accounting and Bachelor of Business requires the completion of a minimum of 144 units of study.

Students enrolled in a combined degree program must complete the full program specified within the combined program for each degree before they can graduate with either award.

Students who commence but subsequently do not wish to complete the combined degrees program will normally be eligible to transfer to either the Bachelor of Business or Bachelor of Accounting program and receive credit for some or all of the topics already completed.

Admission requirements

Students who gain admission to the Bachelor of Accounting may, at enrolment, elect to enter the combined program provided that their admission ATAR score is equal to or above that required for admission to the Bachelor of Business in that year.

Eligible students who decline the offer to take up the combined degrees program at enrolment and wish in a subsequent year to enrol in the combined degrees program will be required to apply to SATAC for admission to the other degree. In some cases these students may have to undertake more than 144 units to complete the requirements of the combined degrees program and they are encouraged to seek advice from the relevant Dean (Education) or nominee before applying.

Program of study

To qualify for the combined degrees of Bachelor of Accounting with Bachelor of Business degree, a student must complete the following program of study with a grade of P or NGP or better in each topic:

  • an Accounting component of at least 76.5 units for the Bachelor of Accounting as detailed below
  • a Business component of at least 72 units for the Bachelor of Business as detailed below
  • Sufficient other units to make at least 144 units in total
  • some course combinations appear to require more than 144 units to complete, eg Bachelor of Accounting (76.5 units) combined with Bachelor of Business (Human Resource Management) (90 units), implying in this example that a total of 166.5 units are required. However, as a result of there being many topics in common to both degrees, all degree combinations can still be completed with no more than 144 units.
