The Graduate Certificate in Science (Water Resources Management) is an 18-unit program offered by the College of Science and Engineering.
The course articulates with the 36-unit Graduate Diploma in Science (Water Resources Management) and the 72-unit Master of Science (Water Resources Management), and the sequentially developed topics allow progression through the three awards. Students who have completed the Graduate Certificate are awarded credit towards the Graduate Diploma.
Applicants must normally hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification in any relevant discipline of science and engineering, from an approved tertiary institution. However, the Dean (Education) may, under certain circumstances and subject to specific conditions, admit others who can show evidence of fitness for candidature. These applicants will need to demonstrate relevant experience to an appropriate level and will be assessed at the discretion of the Course Coordinator.
This program is designed to gives graduates in water resources management an understanding of the scientific as well as organizational, social and economic issues facing the management of water resources. Graduates will have introductory interdisciplinary knowledge in this field, and be able to strategically assess ways of addressing these issues.
Graduates of the course are expected to be able to:
