The Graduate Certificate in Gifted Education is an 18-unit course offered by the College of Education, Psychology and Social Work and is available in a combination of on-campus school holiday intensives and online delivery. The program can be completed entirely by distance mode in two years of part-time study, or in a combination of delivery modes within one year of part-time study. This course is recommended for any educators or other professionals who seek to understand gifted students and their development in order to foster their achievement and well-being through challenging and supportive educational provisions.
The Graduate Certificate in Gifted Education articulates with the Master of Education, the Master of Leadership in Education and the Master of Inclusive and Specialised Education.
Applicants must normally hold an approved degree or equivalent qualification.
However, the Dean (Education) may, under certain circumstances and subject to specific conditions, admit others who can show evidence of fitness for candidature.

To qualify for the Graduate Certificate in Gifted Education, a student must complete 18 units with a grade of P or NGP, or better, in each topic according to the program of study below.

EDUC8791 Gifted Education: Conceptions of Giftedness, Intelligence and Creativity (4.5 units)
EDUC9406 Differentiation and Inclusive Educational Practices (4.5 units)
EDUC9792 Gifted Education: Curriculum and Differentiation (4.5 units)
4.5 units of option topics from the following list:
EDUC9793 Design Thinking to Develop and Evaluate Educational Programs (4.5 units)
EDUC9794 Gifted Education: Affective Development (4.5 units)
It is recommended that students complete EDUC8791 as the first topic in this course.
