Bachelor of Behavioural Science (Psychology), Bachelor of Arts - prior to 31 December 2020

The combined degrees program of Bachelor of Behavioural Science (Psychology)/Bachelor of Arts requires the completion of a minimum of 153 units of study.

For admission to the program students must apply for admission to the Bachelor of Behavioural Science (Psychology). If successful they will be given the option of taking up the combined degrees program.

Students enrolled in a combined degree program must complete the full program specified within the combined program for each degree before they can graduate with either award.

Students who commence, but subsequently do not wish to complete the combined degrees program, may be eligible to transfer to either the Bachelor of Behavioural Science (Psychology) or Bachelor of Arts program and receive credit for some or all of the topics already completed.

Program of study

To qualify for the combined degrees of Bachelor of Behavioural Science (Psychology)/Bachelor of Arts a student must complete the following program of study with a grade of P or NGP or better in each topic:

• a Behavioural Science (Psychology) component of at least 94.5 units for the Bachelor of Behavioural Science (Psychology) as detailed below 
• an Arts component of at least 58.5 units for the Bachelor of Arts.

Bachelor of Behavioural Science (Psychology) component

To qualify for the Bachelor of Behavioural Science (Psychology) a student must complete 94.5 units with a grade of P or better or NGP in each topic. This must include:

• 58.5 units of the major sequence in Psychology (comprising 13.5 units of First level topics, 22.5 units of Second level topics and 22.5 units of Third level topics), and
• 36 units of a second major in one of the stipulated related areas (comprising 9 units of First level topics, 13.5 units of Second level topics and 13.5 units of Third level topics). Note that some areas require more than 36 units in the major.

Third year core topics

PSYC3007 Research Methods 3  (4.5 units)
PSYC3235 Applications of Psychological Science  (4.5 units)

And at least 13.5 units of other third year Psychology topics from the following list:

Bachelor of Arts component

To qualify for the Bachelor of Arts a student must complete 58.5 units with a grade of P or better or NGP in each topic. This must include:

• 36 units of the major sequence, comprising two First Level topics (9 units), two Second Level topics (9 units), two Third level topics (9 units), plus two topics (9 units) from Second or Third Level according to requirements for the specific major sequence;
• 22.5 units of a minor sequence in a different field of study, comprising two First Level topics (9 units), two Second Level topics (9 units) and a further topic (4.5 units), at either Second or Third Level.
