The Bachelor of Health Sciences Health Promotion major is offered by the College of Nursing and Health Sciences.

The Bachelor of Health Sciences (Health Promotion major) offers a program of study where students major in the emerging area of Health Promotion. It draws upon the foundation core topics within the Bachelor of Health Sciences and is also complemented by relevant topic offerings from other faculties. It is designed to develop graduates’ abilities to contribute to the development of social, ethical and cultural sensitive solutions to complex problems within a Health Promotion framework, underpinned by the Ottawa Charter. It aims to develop graduates to work effectively within a Health Promotion Profession and multi-discipline team environments and improve their practice through critical reflection and learning.

To qualify for the Bachelor of Health Sciences (Health Promotion major) a student must complete 108 units with a grade of P or NGP or better in each topic according to the following program of study.
The award of a grade of Fail (F) in the same topic on more than one occasion may constitute prima facie evidence of unsatisfactory progress for the purposes of the University's Policy on Student Progress.
Except with the permission of the Course Committee, a student may not proceed to higher year core topics unless they have satisfactorily completed the previous years core topics.
