2026 National Student Safety Survey

The 2026 National Student Safety Survey is being conducted across Australian universities by independent research organisation Roy Morgan on behalf of Universities Australia.

The survey captures students’ perceptions and experiences of sexual violence and harm. It provides updated data to help inform prevention efforts, strengthen support services and drive continued action across the sector.

Every student’s experience of university is different.

The NSSS allows eligible students to share their experiences and perspectives. You do not need to have experienced sexual violence or harm to take part. The survey is for all eligible students, and every student’s perspective matters.

Eligible students may receive an invitation to participate directly from independent research organisation Roy Morgan.

Participation is voluntary and confidential. Individual survey responses will not be shared with the University. Students can stop the survey at any time.

Some topics covered in the survey may be sensitive or distressing. Students are encouraged to prioritise their wellbeing and access support if they need it.
