To be read in conjunction with the program of study requirements for the degree in which you are enrolled:
A student may complete a major sequence of 36 units in Business Studies by completing two Year 1 topics (9 units), two Year 2 topics (9 units) and two Year 3 topics (9 units) plus two additional topics (9 units) from the Year 2 or Year 3 topics listed in the program of study below.
A student may complete a minor sequence of 22.5 units in Business Studies by completing two Year 1 topics (9 units), two Year 2 topics (9 units) plus and additional topic (4.5 units) from the Year 2 or Year 3 topics listed in the program of study below.
A minor in Business Studies is not available to students who commenced the Bachelor of Education (Primary), Bachelor of Arts from 1 January 2019.
The minor sequence is not available to students who commenced the Bachelor of Arts, Master of Teaching (Primary) from 1 January 2020
A student may complete an extended major sequence in Business Studies by completing the prescribed major topics (36 units), plus an additional two topics (9 units) from the Year 2 or Year 3 topics listed below.
An extended major sequence in Business Studies is not available to students enrolled in the double Bachelor of Education/Bachelor of Arts degrees.
This major provides an introduction to the knowledge and skills required for professional, business-related careers in private and public enterprise. It aims to provide students with knowledge, understanding, skills and attitudes to facilitate entry into business-related careers. Business Studies provides an introduction to the main knowledge bases of business and includes topics in accounting, marketing, organisational behaviour and human resource management.

Note:
Bachelor of Education (Middle and Secondary), Bachelor of Health Sciences students undertake an 18 unit teaching minor consisting of: 9 units of Year 1 topics plus 9 units of Year 2 or Year 3 topics (where the entry requirements are met).
