Our academic intervention strategies are there to support you on your academic journey, and it is strongly recommended you engage with the process or there may be consequences for your course.
You will be identified for the SSPS program if you are having difficulty progressing in your course in accordance to below criteria:
If you are enrolled in a course at the University, excluding Higher Degree by Research students and;
All topics which you were enrolled in at the topic census date will count towards the assessment of SSPS.
If your grade is incomplete (*) for topics you are enrolled in at the time of the SSPS assessment, this topic will not be included in the SSPS calculation. If you have an incomplete grade at the time of SSPS assessment, and it changes to a fail grade, this will count toward SSPS at the next SSPS assessment.

You will be identified as experiencing ongoing/escalating difficulty progressing in your enrolled course if you experience one or more of the following:
If you are identified as experiencing ongoing/escalating difficulty progressing, you will be initially evaluated in accordance with the Student Progress Policy and Student Progress Procedures and may be subject to a formal review of your progress.
Flinders will contact you via your Flinders University email account to offer support and help you implement strategies to improve your academic performance.
You may need to provide information to the College about plans or measures you have implemented to improve progress towards completing your course.

Flinders will contact you if your academic progress is identified for formal review in accordance with the Student Progress Policy and Student Progress Procedures. It is essential you engage with this process, otherwise there will be serious implications to your studies.
Flinders will notify you in writing via your Flinders email address if you are subject to a formal review of progress by the College Progress Committee via your Flinders University email account. The written notice will include:
Regardless of the College Progress Committee’s decision, you have the opportunity to respond and/ or appeal the decision. Student Assist, offered by FUSA, can help you understand the process.
You need to provide a written response to the College, including any relevant academic or personal information to support your application to continue in your course. If you do not respond, the College will make a determination without your input. Possible outcomes include the following:
