If you receive an offer to Flinders but you do not wish to commence studying straight away, you can request to have your offer deferred to a start date in the next semester (half-year intake) or subsequent semester (half-year intake).
Flinders can hold your place in a deferrable course for as long as two consecutive years.
To secure a place in the course, you must respond by the deadline stated in your offer letter.
If you simply wish to change the start date on your offer letter to earlier or later in the same semester (half-year intake), email HDR.Admissions@flinders.edu.au nominating your new start date. Do not formally apply to defer.
To formally apply to defer your offer, you need to:
Your request to defer will be considered and you will be advised of the outcome by email.
You may decline your offer, however, if you do not act on your offer, it will lapse after a period of no action and it will then be withdrawn.
You may be able to defer the commencement of your course until the following intake based on compassionate or compelling grounds. This is subject to University approval. Discuss with your supervisor first, to confirm you have their approval to delay the project start date: It is good to have evidence of their approval in writing.
Applications for deferral will be reassessed according to the University's Genuine Student guidelines.
You need to contact Flinders International to apply to defer. Your request will be sent to your College of application, for decision, and you will be notified of the outcome by email in due course.”
You may decline your offer, however, if you do not act on your offer by the specified deadline, it will lapse after a period of no action and it will then be withdrawn.
