Starting uni can be daunting and there are a lot of things for you to learn, like finding your way around, knowing where to get textbooks and understanding university systems. O'Guides are here to answer your questions and help you settle in to uni life.
O’Guides are current students who act as a contact point for new students throughout the first few weeks of semester. O’Guides can answer any questions you may have (or point you in the right direction). They will also help you get to know other students starting their university journey.
You can choose to participate in either the ‘on campus’ O’Guide Program where you’ll meet up face-to-face with your O’Guide and other students on campus, or the ‘online’ O’Guide Program where you’ll connect with your O’Guides and other students via Microsoft Teams. Please choose your preference below.
To participate in the on campus O’Guide Program, please register for your College O’Guide Meet Up by selecting your College from the dropdowns below, and choosing your preferred session time. The first O’Guide Meet Up will take place in O’Week (22 – 26 February). Meet Ups will also take place weekly in the first three weeks of Semester.
Not sure which College your course belongs to? Find your College by searching your course code or course name to see which College it belongs to.

The O’Guide Program connects new students with a student guide to help them settle into life at Flinders.
Starting Uni can be daunting and there are a lot of things for new students to learn, like finding their way around, knowing where to get textbooks and understanding University systems.
We asked new students how we could better support them during their crucial first few weeks at Flinders and many told us they would find it helpful to be paired up with another student to help them settle in. In response to this, we developed the O’Guide Program.
O’Guides are current students who will act as a contact point for new students throughout the first few weeks of semester. O’Guides are there to answer questions (or point students in the right direction) and help them get to know others.
Students starting at Flinders in semester 1, 2021 will be buddied up with an O’Guide in groups with other new students, either face-to-face or online. O'Guide group get togethers will take place in O'Week and weekly during the first three weeks of semester 1.
Applications for 2021 are now closed.
If you’ve been studying at Flinders for six months or more and keen to be involved in 2021, please apply now.
Being an O’Guide will give you an opportunity to:
As an O’Guide, your commitment is:
The total time commitment is approximately 15 hours across O'Week to week 3 of semester 1, 2021.
