O’Guides are current students who act as a contact point for new students throughout the first few weeks of semester. O’Guides can answer any questions you may have (or point you in the right direction). They will also help you get to know other students starting their university journey.
Whether you're studying online or on campus, you can choose to participate in either the ‘on campus’ O’Guide Program where you’ll meet up face-to-face with your O’Guide and other students on campus, or the ‘online’ O’Guide Program where you’ll connect with your O’Guides and other students via Microsoft Teams.
Please note that in response to the current lockdown in South Australia, face-to-face O'Guide sessions will now take place online. If you have registered to participate in the O'Guide Program, your O'Guide will contact you via your Flinders email with information regarding your online session. If you have not yet registered, you're still welcome to join and participate online.
How does it work?
After you have registered to participate in the O’Guide Program, you'll be matched with a relevant O’Guide (current student) and other commencing students. Your O'Guide will contact you (via your University email) and your group in mid July to arrange a date and time to meet. The first meet up will take place in O’Week and then weekly until the end of Week 3. At your O’Guide Group meet up you’ll be provided with information and resources, coffee or snacks and will have a chance to ask questions and get to know your peers.
