Graduation celebration

Photo sessions are available to all 2020 graduates:

• Graduates who were attending or invited to attend the November Celebration events
• Students who were attending or invited to attend the December Celebration events

An email has been sent to all eligible Graduates/Students. If you have not received an email and believe you should be included please AskFlinders

Photo sessions will be held between:

• Wednesday 16 December – Saturday 19 December 2020
• Thursday 4 February – Saturday 6 February 2021

Weekend and after hours’ time slots are available, however, there will be limited spaces, so book in quick!

If you are unable to attend the photo sessions on campus during these times, you can organise a private arrangement with GFP.

All eligible students will receive an email, which includes the link to book for a Graduation Photo Session. All bookings must be placed via the portal. 

Academic dress will be included in all photography packages. It is made up of three parts; the gown, the hood and the cap.

The colour and style of your academic dress is determined by the level of qualification you are completing and the discipline you studied.  The hood colour is determined by your college. View more information in the Academic Dress Procedures and see the colours.

Stoles

If you are an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Australian you are entitled to wear a stole, worn over the gown and under the hood of the academic dress for the relevant degree. You can borrow a stole for your event.

Providing your own academic dress

You can borrow academic dress items from friends and family, however, all items must be in the correct specification as per the Academic Dress Procedures and may be required to be approved prior to your ceremony by Graduation Services.

Photo sessions will be held on campus, it is essential to book with GFP to participate.

Guests numbers are required at the time of booking for COVID recording. Social distancing requirements will also be in place and we greatly appreciate your cooperation with these measures. All attendees will be required to complete a COVID check in upon arrival.

All academic dress can be collected at the beginning of your time slot. Once your photo session has finished you will then be able to return your gown and hood to GFP staff. The mortarboard (bonnets excluded) will be yours to keep as a memento.

Note that car parking spaces on campus can fill early, so you’ll need to allow plenty of time for parking.

If you are feeling unwell or experiencing cold or flu like symptoms on the day of your photo session, it is important that you stay home and seek medical advice.  Please contact Graduation Services to advise that you are unable to attend as soon as possible. Graduates who are unable to attend will be able to have their photo session fees refunded.
