Degree Conferral
There are three steps for degree conferral, eligibility to be conferred, completion of your award, and automatic conferral.
Eligibility
You are eligible to be conferred (graduate) when you have completed all the requirements of your course. Your unofficial transcript will be updated with the following statement when you become eligible:
Completed the requirements for (degree) on (date).
Completion
Congratulations! Once your award has been completed by your College, you will receive an email from Graduation Services advising that your Degree will be conferred automatically.
Automatic Conferral
Flinders University has now removed the requirement to apply for conferral. This means that all students will be automatically conferred upon completion. Your degree will be automatically allocated to the next conferral that you are deemed eligible.
Steps
Your name will be printed on your certificate exactly as it appears in the Student System. If your name is incorrect, you will need to provide one of the following official documents to Flinders Connect to have your details updated:
All name changes must be complete in the Student System before your award is completed. A reminder will be emailed once your award has been allocated to a conferral.
If you are coming to Flinders Connect to update your name, you must present either the original, or a physical certified copy of the document. If you are unable to come into the campus, please send a certified copy of your supporting documents to:
