Dear student,
We’ve reached the end of the first week of Semester 2 – and what a week it has been! It has been a very different start to semester with our staff working hard to deliver classes and support services entirely online. I thank you for your patience, understanding and adaptability over the recent times.
Thankfully, it looks like South Australia’s snap lockdown has been successful and things are improving. We have had a smooth transition out of lockdown, with no further COVID-19 cases of concern or community transmission.
As I mentioned in my email earlier this week,
If you are subject to quarantine restrictions, please contact your topic coordinator who can advise you how to proceed.
Noting that this has been a disruptive time, our Orientation Program continues to be offered online, through a range of activities that you can view on the Orientation Planner.
Meanwhile Open Days are almost here if you are considering changing your course or almost at the end of your current degree – this year we’ll be offering a rich array of information online, and in a further innovation it will continue to be available year-round so that anyone can find their perfect course anytime. We’ll also have a suite of on-campus opportunities available by registration or bookings to manage numbers.
Please remember that level 3 restrictions are still in place in South Australia, with SA Health strongly recommending the wearing of masks at universities in shared spaces and areas of contact with others – so remember to bring your mask. Rest assured campus is being cleaned daily, and more often in high traffic areas and hand sanitiser is available throughout.
If you need additional support, help is available – visit the Student support services directory to access what you need, including enrolment, counselling and academic support services. If you require emergency financial assistance, please contact FUSA Student Assist.
I know how much you value being on campus and the benefits of face-to-face interaction with your lecturers and other students, and we’re all really looking forward to welcoming you back on campus. For our students in quarantine, stay safe and we will see you back on campus soon.
Best regards
Deborah
